Although the field has evolved as a result of synergistic co-operation among researchers in databases, artificial intelligence, statistics and systems, it has maintained its own identity. From a single workshop in 1989, the field can now lay claim to at least 5 major conferences and numerous symposium devoted to its central theme. |
