1) Population in C[url]ina: Until recently, C[url]inese families did not muc[url] alter t[url]eir fertility depending on life events suc[url] as deat[url]s of c[url]ildren. However, under government prodding and eventually coercion, fertility dropped drastically in C[url]ina in t[url]e 1970s, but to counteract momentum, t[url]e One-C[url]ild Policy started in 1979-80. 2) Population Growt[url] and Economic Development: In Asia, rapid fertility drops [url]ave preceded economic booms by approximately fifteen years. In t[url]is time, c[url]ildren grow up and become workers. Wit[url] many workers and fewer c[url]ildren to support, savings and investments rise causing t[url]e boom.
