课程简介: Today, the World Wide Web is a global information space of interlinked documents. Linked Data describes a method of publishing not only documents, but also structured data so that it can be interlinked and become more useful. Linked Data builds on Web standards, such as HTTP and URIs, and allows sharing of information in machine readable formats. In the first part of the tutorial we will discuss the underlying RDF data model and the Linked Data principles for publishing RDF data on the Web. In particular, we will cover: - Motivation: Why do we need Linked Data? - Linked Data principles - RDF data model - SPARQL query language for RDF However, the remarkable semantics-based interoperations that are enabled by these technologies, are limited by the static aspect of the data. In order to introduce dynamics and executable functionalities in this environment we have to look beyond fixed datasets. It has to be considered how the semantics of Web Services and APIs can be described. Additionally the dynamically created data from these services should be interlinked with existing Linked Data sets. In the second part of the tutorial will introduce Linked Services/APIs as an approach to achieve these goals by combining LOD principles with those of RESTful services. In particular, we will cover: - service descriptions based on SPARQL graph patterns - communication of RDF via RESTful content negotiation - best practices to lift non-RDF services to a semantic level
