This five-day course on evaluating the social program will provide a comprehensive understanding of random evaluation and practical step-by-step training for conducting their own evaluations. Although the course focuses on stochastic evaluation, many topics, such as measurement results and processing, are relevant to evaluating the effectiveness of threats and other methods. The goal of the J-PAL system on the Abdul Latif Jamil Poverty Action Laboratory is to reduce poverty by ensuring that policies are based on scientific evidence. Through the scale of effective programmes - such as - produced by J-PAL researchers every day, evidence influences policy and improves lives, sometimes directly, and in less direct, but equally important ways. So far, our evidence is in the lives of at least 3 billion people worldwide through the improvement of efficient policies and programs at scale. By 2013, the J-PAL system aims to have a positive impact on 100 million people's lives.
