课程简介: | Spiders are very good at extracting main information from the environment and transmitting significant information through their own environment using a variety of sensory structures. Many of these sensory structures are highly specialized and unique to specific spider populations; Similarly, for researchers, it provides an opportunity to explore a wide range of problems in the evolution and function of the sensory system. These different sensory systems can also be massively integrated into complex behaviors in many arthropod groups, such as interactions found in fighting or courtship. Recent work builds on basic physiological and morphological research, using new technologies and integrating research across traditional disciplines to show specific sensory functions in complex behaviors. These studies show that, in part, previously unrecognized sensory ways play a leading role in establishing good behavior – such as amblypygid phrynus margnemaculatus using near-field sound in antennal leg vibration display. In addition, researchers have manipulated the signal environment and the phenotypic traits of many arachnids and found that the interaction of underestimated important traits has the advantage of displaying functions - such as the interaction ability between front leg decoration and the mating rate of wolf spider schizocosa stridulans, or the interaction of seismic and visual signals between wolf spider rabidosa rabida Hotel. At present, spider research is an impressive 34% focused on multimode communication and opportunities to increase this percentage. I think spiders are ideal organisms to study and solve the evolution and function of sensory system and related communication system. Such research is very timely. In addition, related fields have important traditions in taxonomy and phylogeny, in addition to their intensity of behavioral research. Arachnid taxonomists and phylogeneticists are at the forefront of this field, so our knowledge of the genetic relationship of some arthropod groups is huge. There is a great opportunity to combine behavioral research with evolutionary theory and problems. It is an arachnologist and an exciting moment. I think interdisciplinary cooperation and spiders in the future can become model organisms for behavioral evolution. |
